The web is a kaleidoscope of brilliant, colorful, engaging bloggers; we thought we’d share with you a few of our favorites.
Tired of their cluttered and unhappy lifestyles, two (super-cool) guys decided to get rid of the vast majority of their stuff, leave their six-figure-salary jobs, and pursue more meaningful lives. They’ve documented their journey, beginning with Day 1 to show you how to come up with a new life philosophy. Their story has attracted a cult following, and the men have been featured on many mainstream news outlets, such as Forbes, NPR, Elle, and The Wall Street Journal. Their lifestyle may seem a little extreme to some, but their useful advice may be taken in any dose.
Oh She Glows
This is a (dare we say it?) vegan food blog. Wait, wait– before you dismiss the idea that vegan food is any good, we suggest you actually try a recipe. For instance, the one that you will see if you click on the photo of pancakes. This website is packed full of delicious vegan recipes: No-Bake Peppermint Patty Bars, Creamy Pumpkin Pie Smoothie, and Maple Baked Lentils with Sweet Potato, anyone? Angela, the woman who heads this blog, also includes beautiful photographs of the final results, as well as entertaining commentary. You can thank us when you’re scarfing down a jar of fresh cookie butter.
The Story of Stuff Blog
Oh, Annie Leonard, we adore thee. The Story of Stuff Blog provides accessible and engaging ways to lower your consumption and make your voice heard. Besides reading the blog, we’d highly recommend watching the short movies posted on the site. They cover complex topics such as the Citizens United Supreme Court case, cap and trade, and the current state of the economy, but explain them in language anyone can understand.
